Tilda With Flowing Hair - Summertime

Friday, August 25, 2017

Today I would like to share a card with the theme of "All About Summer" and this is also an AAM Challenge #25 I'm taking in. Summer is ending, and I have to say, this is really a HooooooooT summer here in Shanghai this year! I should even mark the year in my journal!

LOL, back to today's card. I used Tilda with flowing hair as the main image of this card, and also chose the Butterfly kit from the Once Upon a Time series. But at the beginning, I'm not so sure whether to use them or not, so I just colored 1 big and 2 small butterflies, and decide later once I finished the card.

I'm so excited today because this is the very first time I used coffee filter paper to handmade these 3 flowers, and I was really satisfied with the final result. In the meantime, I've gain some experiences during the making process, and each flower I made later was better than the previous ones. (The order I made the flowers was: big red pink --- Purple ---Light Pink) And I used Distress Stain to color the filter papers.

And finally, I found out I don't have a stamp with Summer theme, which is not quite a disaster for me right now, cos I can try my calligraphy!

Okay, that's pretty much about today's card, really enjoyed making it, especially after sticking the 3 butterflies I colored earlier, then I coated them with Glossy Accents to get a shinny look.

Thanks for stooping by and hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Crafting!

Gorjuss Girl - Summer Days Birthday Card

Thursday, August 17, 2017

Today I would like to share a card using the newest stamp set from Gorjuss Girl, the Summer days. Actually, I've bought every set of this little girl because I'm collecting them for a long time.

I used Copic marker to color the image which is more of my "comfort zone" comparing with using watercolors. However, I did use the distress stain to paint the sand and sea. ^^*

After finish coloring works, I decided to add a little sparkling elements to the girl's dress, and the umbrella, using ZIG Wink of stella clear brush pen. Meantime, I also added Ranger glossy accents to the girl's eyes, all the starfishes and the crab at the bottom.

I always wanted the card looking a bit vintage so I added Distress ink (walnut stain) to all the edges and finish it with white gesso to the flowers, leaves, metal flower and shell. I was very satisfied with the final look of this card and I am going to give it to my friend on her birthday.

Oh right, almost forgot to mention that I wanted this card can be used as a home decoration instead merely a card. So, this is pretty a large card with a A4 size unfolded. So you can stick a photo to the back of the card and keep it opened and then put it in a frame with inner height.

Okay, that's all for today's card. Thanks for stopping by!~

Tilda Wishing Star Card

Monday, August 07, 2017

I'm so happy that I finally was able to add posts of my handmade cards to this blog, and to begin with this wonderful adventure, I'd like to share a handmade card that I just made today.

This is a birthday greeting card for a friend of mine, hopefully she will be really surprised when she receive this card on her birthday day!~

And for sure, I must choose Tilda for the card because I love this little fat girl so much.

I first water painted the background paper (No.34 & No.63), and then finished it with silver dots(No.95) from the Kuretake 36 watercolor set.

Then I really struggled to choose the color for Tilda's dress to match this background, and finally I chose Pine Needles from distress inks. And this is also the first time that I color with distress stain. I always use COPIC Sketch for coloring before, so this is a challenge for me too. I'm not so good at using watercolors.

I tried to die cut the colored image with a frame but I am not so satisfied with the effect so then I decided to just cut the girl and stick it to the card with a foam tape.

I hand wrote the "happy birthday' tag for this card as I just started trying calligraphy recently so maybe it doesn't look so pretty as the stamped ones.

Finally, I decorated the card with some leaves and paper flowers, and die cut a lace background for it.

So!!!!!! This is it, my very first blog post and I hope this is a good start! Meanwhile, I have to say that, English is NOT my mother language, so if I made some grammar or spelling mistakes, you are really welcomed to help me to correct it.

Welcome you all to leave comments for my blogs and also I will be so glad to hear any ideas or suggestions with the cards.

Hope to share all my crafting ideas with you guys from now on, and makes new friends with same interests!

Regards,
